Siranudh “Psi” Scott - Understanding Thailand’s Most Talked-About Story
Hey guys — before we get into this, please be aware that this post discusses real-life allegations involving sexual abuse and childhood trauma. It’s a heavy topic, so if you’re not in the right headspace to read this today, it’s completely okay to skip this post and come back later. Please take care of yourselves first.
Thanks Thairath and Kapook for pictures.
Hey everyone, Aam here.
If you’ve been scrolling through Twitter or TikTok over the last few days, you’ve probably seen a major hashtag dominating the #1 trending spot in Thailand. Since so many of you follow me from around the world and are deeply interested in Thai culture, I know a lot of you are seeing fragments of this story through rough translations and confusing posts.
I want to give you the clearest context possible so you can understand what you’re actually looking at. But before we get into it, I need to be 100% clear: this is not entertainment news. This is not a drama series, and it is definitely not a BL storyline.
This is a real and very sensitive situation involving serious allegations, family conflict, and real people’s lives. I’m sharing this to inform you, not to fuel gossip or turn this into online entertainment.
The Situation as It Stands
Siranudh “Psi” Scott
The story centers on Siranudh “Psi” Scott, a 29-year-old marine conservationist known to many as Thailand’s “Aquaman” for his environmental work. He is also a member of the Bhirombhakdi family—the billionaire family behind the Singha empire. In Thailand, this is one of the most influential and recognizable families in the country.
This story has drawn so much attention because it involves several heavy elements: serious allegations, a highly public family, and a statement made directly on social media.
Sunit “Pi” Scott
The Allegations: On May 9, Psi posted a deeply emotional video on Facebook that shocked the country. In it, he alleged that his older brother, Sunit “Pi” Scott, sexually abused him over a period of more than a decade, beginning when he was around 12 years old.
The Family Dynamics: Psi also claimed that members of his family were aware of what was happening but chose to protect the family’s reputation and "heir" status rather than support him.
The Evidence: A few days later, Psi released an audio clip that he says supports his claims. This has intensified the public discussion, although the validity of the recording has not been independently verified in court.
The Legal Conflict: The situation is further complicated by an ongoing legal dispute with his mother over inheritance property. Psi has stated that he no longer wants to be associated with the “Singha heir” identity because of the pain he has endured.
Why This Matters
This is a major and evolving story, and more details are likely to continue coming out. Online reactions in Thailand have been divided; some people are expressing deep support, while others are asking everyone to wait for verified facts and let the legal process unfold.
It’s important to say this clearly:
we do not know the full truth, and we are not in a position to judge.
In situations involving long-term trauma, family conflict, and legal disputes, there are always layers that outsiders cannot fully see. My goal here is not to tell anyone who to believe. I just want to make sure you understand what’s being discussed in Thailand so you’re not trying to piece it together from random clips or mistranslations.
A Note on Your Well-being
Because this topic is extremely sensitive, I want to ask everyone to approach it with care. It’s easy to get swept up in the "internet's anger" and start attacking people online, but please don’t do that. Let this situation be handled through the proper channels.
Most importantly, please protect your mental health. Topics like abuse and childhood trauma can be deeply triggering. If this feels like too much, it is completely okay to mute the hashtags and step away for a while. You do not need to follow every update to be a supportive person.
Protect your peace. Approach this with empathy. Take care of yourselves.
